Engineering and QA Positions (San Jose, CA)
Senior Unix System Administrator
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in Unix system
and network administration in a High Availability Internet Data Center environment,
including automated backups, CVS, and Internet services
management (Apache, BIND, email MTAs.) Our environment includes both Solaris
and Open Source Unix operating systems.
Senior Computer Programmer
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in programming
with C/C++ and Perl/mod_perl in a Unix environment and knowledge of HTML and RFC
documents related to HTTP and email protocols. Ability to do performance
tuning on Internet services, i18N or contribution to Open Source projects is a plus.
Senior Oracle Database Administrator
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in Oracle Enterprise
database management, including installation, configuration, performance
tuning, monitoring and security in a High Availability Internet environment.
Familiarity with non-English content management and directory services like LDAP is a plus.
QA Engineer
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience with automated
software testing and load testing for web applications in
a Unix and MS Windows environment. Familiarity with web and email browser compatibility issues and email protocols would be a plus.
Junior Engineer
If you have less than 5 years experience, but believe you are
strong in Unix systems administration or software development,
send a detailed cover letter of your accomplishments and we
will see if there is a role for you. Types of skills that might
catch our eye include: ad banner network programming, wireless messaging,
ISP system management, journalling filesystems, Unix/Internet performance tuning,
High Availability clustered computing, Unix security tools,
i18N Open Source software development, etc.
Open Source Policy
ActionMessage, besides being a user of Open Source Internet software, is also actively involved as a developer with contributions to Open Source software projects and documentation in the following areas: Unicode, messaging tools, security audits and Perl. Our policy is that, upon approval by the CTO, general purpose software tools and modifications may be contributed back to the Open Source community under the appropriate free licence.
